Land Acknowledgement
As a community-owned co-op, we recognize that the land where we gather — spanning our locations in Minnetonka, Chanhassen, Richfield, and Eden Prairie — is the traditional home of the Dakota and Ojibwe people. We acknowledge the historical and ongoing displacement of Indigenous communities and the deep wisdom they have contributed to the stewardship of this earth. We express our gratitude to the Dakota, Ojibwe, and Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community and commit ourselves to honoring the land through our dedication to local, sustainable food systems in addition to supporting local Native organizations through our community giving programs.

Organic Grocery Store
At Lakewinds Food Co-op, a community-owned organic grocery store, you’ll find organic groceries, locally grown produce, sustainably raised meat, local eggs and milk, and more. Our commitment to local, organic food is found throughout our stores. For example, in the most recent fiscal year we sold $1.8 million of local milk, butter, and eggs; $6.7 million of local meat; and $15.2 million of organic produce.
The reasons we’re an organic grocery store instead of a conventional store are numerous: Organic certification means a third party has verified that practices are better for the land or people, and the growers have followed those practices for 3 years. This reduces water and soil pollution, helps protect pollinators, and prevents food from having toxic residues. We partner with local growers and food makers to bring you the best organic groceries, so you can shop with confidence, knowing that what you eat is better for you and better for the environment. There’s no membership required to shop at the co-op, all are welcome!
