Charro Beans

Charro Beans
These charro beans are a great base to use in bean tacos and burritos, on top of nachos, or over rice or in a bowl.
Ingredients
- ⅓ pound bacon ends or bacon pieces, chopped
- 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
- 1 Tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1 can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 cups chicken broth, divided
- 1 teaspoon salt, to taste
Instructions
In a large sauté pan, cook the chopped bacon until browned. Add the onion and garlic and sauté for 5 minutes. Add the can of beans and 1 cup of broth and simmer for 20 minutes, adding more broth as needed to keep it from drying out. Add salt to taste and serve.
