Grilled Pineapple a la Mode

After you've grilled dinner, why not grill dessert as well? The sugars in fruit like pineapple caramelizes when heated, creating mouth-watering flavor and a satisfying char. Paired with locally sourced hot honey and a scoop of your favorite vanilla ice cream, it's the perfect summer dessert.

Instructions

Clean the pineapple and cut it (lengthwise) in spears (8 spears total) and put each spear onto a skewer. Sprinkle with brown sugar and salt.

Over medium heat, grill the pineapple spears for about 3 minutes on each side until grill marks appear. Remove from the grill and set aside to cool.

Add two pineapple spears to each bowl and drizzle with hot honey. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, drizzle with additional honey, and serve.

Notes

*If using wood skewers, soak for 30 minutes before using.
